Have you heard the following about SEO (Search Engine Optimization) before?
- it is not measurable
- ROI is difficult to estimate
- PPC is expensive
- you have to use dirty tricks
Having been doing SEO since the early days of Alta-Vista, I can say rubbish to all the above points.
Is SEO a science? Not quite, it is definitely an art form. But so is anything that requires creative thought to get results.
You will hear companies that charge a lot of money that say a 0.1-0.5% conversion from web site traffic to prospects is good.

It generally varies with what market you are in, here are some stats from Fireclick.
| Vertical | Conversion (%) |
|---|---|
| Catalog | 6.9 |
| Software | 3.9 |
| Fashion/apparel | 2.2 |
| Specialty stores | 1.7 |
| Outdoor/sports | 0.5 |
| Electronics | 0.5 |
| All verticals | 2.4 |

By the way, these other companies charge thousands of dollars every month, plus the cost of your PPC.
I have a simple pricing model.
- US$297 initial fee.
- US$100 one off budget
Basic PPC
- US$997 initial fee.
- An agreed monthly PPC budget which you are happy with
- Management fee of US$110 + 10% of budget paid monthly in advance
Comprehensive SEO
- US$1997 initial fee.
- An agreed monthly PPC budget which you are happy with
- Management fee of US$250 + 15% of budget paid monthly in advance
There are no long term contracts. Everything is month to month after the first month. At the end of each month you get a report on performance, and at any time you can cancel the service. (One month notice does apply)
